become wealthy by reciting salawat

reciting salawat

It’s a very famous salawat created by a great Syekh. Many stories about this salawat. Those who recited it consistently got some benefits. It doesn’t mean that this salawat or Prophet has the same capability as Allah, no, it’s not. Sholawat is a form of ibadah, reciting salawat is ibadah. Once you recite salawat, Allah will rewards you 10 times in return:

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me, Allah will send ten blessings (mercies) upon him.” [Muslim]

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will erase ten sins from him and will raise him ten degrees in status.” [Nasa’i] (Source)

Then… how could people get benefits (become walthy) due to reciting this salawat? How could they know that they got benefits because of this salawat naariyah? Is it real or just a fake story?

It’s mentioned in the Hadith reported by Bukhari that once Allah loves His slaves, he will be their eyes when they see, will be their ears when they listens, etc. means Allah will always helps and guides them whatever they do. The complete hadith is below:

“Verily Allah (Glorified may he be) has said: ‘Whosoever shows enmity to a wali (friend) of Mine, then I have declared war against him. And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the religious duties I have obligated upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to me with nafil (supererogatory) deeds until I Love him. When I Love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, and his sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him; and were he to seek refuge with Me, I would surely grant him refuge.’ ” [Reported by Bukhari]

Do sunnah (recommended actions)–salawat is one of them–then Allah will love you. It means the intention of reciting salawat is to get closer to Allah, to be loved by Allah and the Prophet (PBUH), also to express gratitude.

One maybe ask, why should be salawat naariyah, why not other salawat or other forms of ibadah? You may choose other forms of ibadah. But, what I got from my teachers, it’s about the connection of the soul. Our level in status is far below the level of the Prophet (PBUH), also far below The Prophet’s companions, tabi’intabi’ al tabi’in, also far below the Waliullah (The Wali of Allah, the one who granted love of Allah). If the Waliullah asks Allah for something (pray), Allah mostly gives him immediately. It’s because the connection of the waliullah is very close to Allah as mentioned in the hadith above. What about us, the ordinary man who doesn’t reach such a level in status? If we are not able to be as close as the waliullah, we can connect our soul to the waliullah by following what they do. Every form of ibadah the waliullah does, we do it too.

It’s explained, if we do something good, and followed by others, we get the same reward from what they do. If we follow what the waliullah does, the waliullah will get a reward from what we do. My teacher said, if you want to do an ibadah (sunnah action) to follow waliullah, like reciting salawat naariyah, pray to Allah, “O Allah, make my tongue the same as the tongue of waliullah who created this salawat.” It’s not only the creator of this salawat, but also the teachers who teach this sholawat to us. It’s called sanad (Chain of knowledge transmission). We wish Allah make our tongue the same as the waliullah. We wish to get what the waliullah got. We wish Allah to give everything that has been given to the waliullah.

Then, does everybody who recites salawat naariyah regularly will get wealthy? No. It’s Allah’s will, not our will. The slaves do not control The Creator. We must remember that istiqomah (being consistent/steadfast) is better than everything worldly.

Does it confuse you?

Based on my experience, connecting my soul to waliullahs by doing the ibadah they did, I felt something joyful in my soul, my heart was full of happiness, and felt stronger. I felt that I was not alone. It increases my positive self-esteem, my self-worth, and also self-control.
